Alexis
Barbacci
Practice Innovation Attorney
Alexis Barbacci is a Practice Innovation Attorney at Ellis Porter, where she helps support process improvement and technology-enabled legal work across the firm. Her background in high-skilled immigration continues to inform her work, particularly in the EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-2 NIW, and O-1 categories, while her current role allows her to contribute across practice areas in ways that strengthen how EP operates and serves clients. She brings empathy, precision, and straightforward communication to every aspect of her work.
Before joining EP, Alexis worked as a law school, MPRE, and bar exam tutor and also drafted bar exam appeals. During law school, she pursued service-oriented work through the Legal Advocacy for People with Cancer Clinic and an internship with Lean & Green Michigan. Her path into immigration law grew from that broader commitment to helping people navigate difficult systems with clarity and care.
Alexis has a personal connection to immigration through family roots in Iceland and Poland. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, running, reading cozy mystery novels, and baking, including traditional Icelandic recipes passed down through her family. She is also a devoted Billy Joel fan, consistently her top artist on Spotify despite having seen him live only once.
