Heather
Garvock

Senior Attorney

Heather Garvock is a Senior Attorney at Ellis Porter, focused on J-1 waivers based on No Objection, persecution, and exceptional hardship; waivers of inadmissibility; nonimmigrant waivers; and asylum matters. She helps individuals develop strategies for complex cases and brings a clear, empathetic approach to matters that often involve difficult circumstances. Heather makes complex legal issues easier to understand without talking down to clients, while helping them identify attainable solutions that make the best use of their time and resources.

Heather went to law school with a strong sense of justice and a desire to help people. After taking her first immigration case, she found the work so rewarding that she knew immigration law was the right path for her. Outside of work, she enjoys travel, hiking, camping, photography, and yoga. She is working toward visiting all 63 U.S. National Parks and has visited 16 so far, only 47 to go!
