Amina Aljebori is a Case Manager on our Individual & Family Services team. Prior to joining Ellis Porter, Amina gained several years of extensive experience at the intersection of social services and immigration working at two well-respected non-profit immigration services agencies in Metro Detroit, Samaritas and ACCESS (Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services). Her experience assisting refugees, asylum seekers and other individuals who were new to America has provided her with a unique combination of practical know-how coupled with a high level of cultural sensitivity. Amina has also completed training as a U.S. Department of Justice accredited representative through the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center.
At Ellis Porter, Amina assists our clients with the preparation of all types of family-based and individual immigration applications, ranging from standard matters to those that are more complex in nature. She also provides translation and interpretation assistance for our Arabic language clients and regularly volunteers her time to support educational workshops and other events in the local Arabic community.
As the daughter of Iraqi refugees herself, Amina can appreciate firsthand the stresses and joys of making your way in a new home. Her kind and and approachable nature endears her to every client she encounters, and her clever wit should not be underestimated.
Outside the office, Amina is keenly interested in following global and Middle Eastern politics.
