Patricia is an Attorney on our Family & Individual Services team. She has a wide range of experience in family and individual immigration matters including family sponsorship, marriage-based sponsorship, naturalization, inadmissibility waiver applications, DACA, TPS, VAWA, SIJS visas, U visas and asylum. Patricia also has experience with complex immigration litigation matters including removal defense, bond hearings, mandamus actions and appeals.
Having handled a high volume of immigration matters at well-respected firms in Atlanta, New York City and Philadelphia, Patricia has seen a lot and she really knows her stuff. We're really glad she found her way to Michigan, and we're happy that she has been able to take on a lead role at Ellis Porter in helping us to expand our existing relationships with the Hispanic community throughout Detroit.
Patricia has a real gift for connecting with clients on a personal level and making them feel at ease throughout their immigration journey, no matter how complicated the process gets. After working with Patricia through the trials and tribulations of the immigration process, clients no longer view Patricia just as their attorney, but they also consider her a friend.
Patricia's parents immigrated to the U.S. from Chile just before she was born. As the child of immigrants, Patricia understands the immigrant experience and it has provided her with a great deal of empathy for the immigration challenges faced by clients from the Hispanic community.
As a new Michigan resident, Patricia has quickly come to love the diversity of Detroit and she has especially enjoyed learning more about the people and culture of Detroit's vibrant Hispanic community. If you're looking for Patricia around lunchtime, there's a good chance you'll find her at one of the many amazing taquerias of Southwest Detroit.EDUCATION
