Abril D. Ruthenberg is a Senior Attorney at Ellis Porter, focused on EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW), and O-1 matters for researchers, scientists, industry professionals, and health care institutions. She partners closely with in-house stakeholders at our client organizations to develop tailored, business-aligned immigration strategies. Her work includes translating detailed immigration requirements into practical guidance that supports compliance, talent acquisition, and retention.

Abril listens carefully, anticipates needs, and brings empathy and responsiveness to each client relationship. Her commitment to this work is personal: she and her family immigrated from Argentina when she was young, and she often served as an interpreter and informal advocate for her family. Outside of work, Abril enjoys spending time with family and dogs, going to concerts, and jigsaw puzzles. An avowed animal lover, she visits the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park weekly and is also a Disneyland enthusiast.
