Gilberto
Orozco Jr.

Gilberto Orozco Jr. is a Senior Attorney at Ellis Porter, focused on employment-based immigration matters, including H-1B, L-1, and TN petitions. He works with technology companies and approaches each case with clear communication, responsiveness, and genuine care. Gilberto takes time to understand a client’s circumstances and provides honest guidance, recognizing that immigration decisions can affect careers, families, and the future a client is building.

Prior to joining Ellis Porter, Gilberto gained an immense amount of experience in employment-based immigration, progressing from immigration assistant to law clerk, staff attorney, and associate attorney. In these roles, he advised a broad range of clients, including Fortune 500 companies, startups, small and mid-sized businesses, and nonprofit organizations, on both nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters. His experience includes managing high-volume caseloads, developing strategic, business-focused immigration solutions, and preparing complex filings and responses to Requests for Evidence. He also gained early experience working on humanitarian-based cases, including U visas, T visas, asylum, and adjustment of status applications in a community legal setting. This progression has shaped a practical, well-rounded approach to immigration law and client service.

His connection to immigration work is deeply personal. Gilberto is the son of immigrants from Mexico and the oldest of six children. Growing up, he worked alongside his father in gardening and landscaping and saw his parents navigate the uncertainty and resilience involved in building a life in a new country. Those experiences continue to ground his practice in empathy, diligence, and a commitment to helping clients navigate a system that has directly shaped his own family.

Outside of work, Gilberto enjoys fishing, hunting, hiking, and time with his wife and kids. He also plays the alto saxophone and was in band from third grade through his freshman year of high school, including marching band, before joining the football team as a sophomore.
