Nida Shah is an Attorney at Ellis Porter, where she focuses on EB-1A, EB-2 National Interest Waiver, and O-1 matters for researchers, scientists, software engineers, and academic professionals. She takes a collaborative, client-centered approach, recognizing that clients may be navigating a complex legal process alongside differences in language, communication styles, and uncertainty. Nida tailors strategy and communication to each client’s background, strengths, and long-term goals.
Before joining EP, Nida built experience in immigration and public-interest advocacy through clinic, internship, and fellowship roles serving immigrants, workers, and children. Her work included client interviews, research on asylum and humanitarian immigration claims, and drafting pre-hearing briefs and other case-support materials. She also conducted legal research on voting-rights and civil-litigation matters, strengthening the research, writing, and advocacy skills she brings to every petition.
Nida moved to the United States at 18 and navigated the immigration process herself. That experience informs her commitment to helping clients move through a lengthy and emotionally demanding process with clarity, empathy, and thoughtful guidance. Outside of work, she enjoys running, reading historical fiction, volunteering at monthly pro bono citizenship workshops, and exploring new cafés and restaurants with her husband.
