Undeliverable Green Cards Will Be Destroyed Under New Policy

The USCIS just announced, starting April 2, it will destroy Permanent Resident Cards, Employment Authorization Cards and Travel Documents returned as undeliverable by the post office if 60 days elapse and the card is unclaimed.  Anyone with a missing document must contact the USCIS to report their correct address promptly or risk document destruction.  The need to replace a document could pose many months of delay and, in the case of an EAD, loss of employment authorization.

All applicants must report a change of address within 10 days of relocation using the procedures outlined at uscis.gov/addresschange.
